Shoe Exchange? What do you think?
Preschoolians Sucks Blog Reader "J.Y." posted an interesting idea yesterday...
"Why don't we trade our used shoes? One might get more use out of another's outgrown pairs of great shoes. What do you think, shoemama? We can list them on ebay for 99 cent with buy it now so we don't have to pay too much for listing and final value fee. And add the price you want to get to the real shipping. Say, someone wants to sell her like new pair of preschoolians for $10, she lists them for 99 cent Buy it now price or legular auction, and make the shipping $10+$3.85=$13.85And she leaves the link on this blog. That way, the transaction's safe with a small fee, I think. Or do you think of any other idea?"
Shoe manufacturers recommend not passing down shoes because the shoe gets molded to the foot after a while, but this idea might be a practical solution for our gently used Preschoolians, like the ones we bought for a special occasion, or the ones that our children wore for a week before outgrowing them.
Shoemama doesn't really know that much about selling on Ebay (buying is a different story). Experienced Ebay-ers please post your thoughts and suggestions about how this might work. What do you think? Let us know!

New poster here
- I have a pair of *****NEW**** Size 20 I'm Walking Barefoot Stay Warm Navy Nubuck Waterproof Booties. I will sell them for 42.00 including shipping. No, this isn't a huge discount, but they ARE unworn and I can GUARANTEE I will ship within 24 hours of recieving payment (weekends excluded - shipped priority mail)
I have sold on eBay before and have a 100% rating. I am PayPal verified and would want the buyer to be PayPal verified as well.
By the way, shoemama, what you suggested on the pricing for eBay is called circumventing fees and they can and will suspend accounts that do that. I play honest. :-)
If anyone is interested in the boots I posted about, I can either list them on eBay for a buy it now price or sell them outright via paypal. I can be e-mailed at robin12265 (at) yahoo.com (not typing out e-mail address to avoid harvesting programs).
Thanks for the info Robin, glad to have an experienced seller here. We wouldn't want to do anything shady!

I think a shoe exchange is a great idea. I don't care what shoe manufacturers say. After all, keep in mind that is what they are going to say anyway because to them they just want people to buy more shoes and if everyone is passing shoes to another person that is cash out of the manufacturers' pockets. My thinking is, kids wear shoes (especially infants/toddlers) and they grow quickly and go through sizes so fast that I find shoes and clothes don't get to be used as much as they should be. To give, exchange or donate to someone else I think allows those things to be used to their full potential, especially in a time where "recycle and re-use" are promoted so much. I just want my little girl's clothes and shoes that she can't wear anymore to be loved just as much as she loved them when she got to wear them.
